Corporate Offices and Facility 8
Greenheck is known worldwide as the leading manufacturer of air-movement
and control equipment. Its flagship ventilation products are typically
found behind walls, in ductwork or on the roofs of hospitals, office
buildings, hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, schools, industrial plants
and other commercial buildings. Their function, basically, is to move air
in, out and around a building — making life inside a lot more pleasant.
Greenheck is also a major, multi-brand corporation, representing a number
of other affiliated entities (Accurex, Airolite, Innovent, Precision Coils,
and Valent) offering architectural louvers and sunshades, specialized
air-handling systems, heating and cooling coils and many related
accessories and services. (See Other Greenheck Corporate Brands.)
It's clear Greenheck has come a long way since 1947 when it began business
as a tiny sheet metal shop in Schofield, Wisconsin. Today, Greenheck brand
fans and ventilators, centrifugal and vane axial fans, make-up air units,
energy-recovery ventilators, dampers, louvers, kitchen ventilation systems,
laboratory exhaust systems, indoor air handling units, and coils are
shipped around the globe. Most of the company's manufacturing still takes
place in Schofield; additional manufacturing and assembly facilities are
located in California, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, China and
Mexico.
Bob and Bernie Greenheck, 1956
Founders Bernie and Bob Greenheck, though always determined to make their
business grow, never imagined how large their enterprise would someday
become. And grow it has. No other company offers a wider selection of these
products. The company now achieves sales of approximately $500 million
annually, employs more than 2,850 people, and utilizes more than 1.5
million square feet of manufacturing space. No matter how you measure it,
Greenheck is number one in air movement and control.
Achieving this leadership position is attributable in large part to
Greenheck's long-standing commitment to consistently provide solutions to
new industry challenges. Making ventilation and related equipment more
energy-efficient, quieter, easier to install and maintain, and capable of
the highest performance standards makes Greenheck the manufacturer others
look to for the latest advances and ideas.
Growing demand for building projects that reflect "green" initiatives is
impacting the ventilation industry. Greenheck was one of the first
manufacturers of air-moving and control equipment to join the U.S. Green
Building Council. Greenheck references the USGBC and ASHRAE guidelines and
standards to identify specific products mechanical engineers can use when
designing ventilation systems for sustainable-design projects and those
adhering to LEED certification guidelines.
Vektor Unit Testing
Greenheck's own development and testing facilities in Schofield are
acknowledged as the industry's best. Here, new designs are explored, placed
through comprehensive and demanding evaluation procedures and rated for
specific performance requirements, including fans and louvers built for
high-wind and hurricane zones, and certified to meet stringent Miami-Dade
and Florida Building Code standards.
Greenheck consistently invests substantially in expansion and new facilities
designed to better serve its customers. In recent years, Greenheck has
steadily increased its manufacturing space, adding many thousands of square
feet of capacity in Schofield and other U.S. locations, and in other
countries. This growth is in response to ever-increasing demand for products
that move air in, out, and through buildings.
